They get 50% chance of inheriting colon cancer. This is an auto dominant inherited disease, but with only one or several adenomas.

This is a model of colon cancer, people that have a familial history of colon cancer have a 10 to 30 percent risk of inheriting the cancer. Also the majority of colon cancer cases come from sporadic (random) forms of colon cancer.
The colon cancer genes from parents carry over to their children, but sometimes the gene can be there and not show at all.
